US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Palestinian-Israeli Affairs Hadi Amr arrived in Tel Aviv Friday.

The US embassy in the Israeli Occupation said, "Amr will work to reinforce the need to work for a sustainable appeasement, and the recognition of Israel's right to self-defense."

In its statement, the embassy made it clear that Palestinians and Israeli Occupation citizens deserve equal measures of freedom, security, dignity and prosperity.

The White House said earlier in the week that Washington aims to achieve sustainable calm and peace in the Gaza Strip, but stressed that the Israeli Occupation has "the right to defend itself."

"Our goal is to work for a sustainable calm and peace in the Gaza Strip ... Israel has the right to defend itself," White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said during a press conference held Friday.

Psaki added that the Biden administration is now focused on using its relations in the region to solve the crisis between the Israeli Occupation and Hamas through diplomatic means.

The White House statement did not mention the situation in Jerusalem and Sheikh Jarrah, which was the spark of recent developments.

This comes in conjunction with Israeli Occupation security sources confirming the end of the military campaign on Gaza, according to the Hebrew Channel 12.
